Understanding Server

In this post I will discuss what it is about understanding the server, in information technology, a server is "an application program that accepts connections to a service request and give back a response. server application can run on the same computer with the clients who use these servers, or can be connected through computer networks. Here are some examples of servers are:
1. file Server
2. database servers
3. Application servers
4. VPN server
5. DHCP server
6. DNS server
7. FTP server
8. backup servers
9. Print server
10. Security server
11. Proxy servers and others - others.

A server operating system is intended to run the application server. The difference between the vesi server operating system with workstation / desktop is usually different - different. On windows 2000 and windows 2000 servers vary primarily on the number of connections to a network file share. In some editions of server operating systems are usually bundled with less application servers such as IIS. On linux this is not a problem because all of the operating system can be used as a server ilnux easily just need to properly tune the applications that we want no license restrictions
